We seek to conquer empires
When the kingdom lies
within.
We thirst for knowledge

Rejecting answers as
they begin.
We struggle for survival;
Taking on the world
against all odds,
Challenging those around
us,
Dismissing souls without
a cause.
We are enslaved by our
possessions,
denying us the freedom
we desire:
regardless of the sacrifice,
We are still driven
to acquire.
We shelter ourselves
in mansions,
Yet, leave others in
the cold;
Preoccupied with selfishness,
We neglect the hungry,
sick and old.
We lust for power and
position;
To be a legend in our
time,
All the while not knowing,
It is our love we leave
behind.
