Lion In Disguise
~~~
If you ever
want to rumble, friend,
I am happy
to oblige.
No longer
will I make your day
Seeing tear
drops in my eyes.
Taunting me
with your verbiage;
This placid
lake you see,
Will shape
shift in an instant,
To a bitter
enemy.
You think me
a kind and gentle sort,
Assuming me
weak and frail;
Be wary of
the velvet glove,
Masking a
scorpions tail.
I have lots
of practice with your kind,
Since childhood,
you see.
I've watched
you bully innocent souls,
Who sought
humility.
You tore down
our defenses;
We turned
the other cheek.
You trampled
hearts with brutal force,
Using thoughtless
acts and deeds.
I don't have
the time to play again,
This game
is your demise;
Keep your
foot off this cat's tail,
I'm a lion
in disguise.
