In the hush of the desert night
a prophecy was fulfilled,
for a child was born in Bethlehem;
his love would change the world.

And this night was like no other,
for all the angels sang:
Rejoice! the king of heaven
is born to man this day.

From the east the magi sought Him,
to behold the savior's birth;
guided by a celestial light,
offering frankincense and myrrh.

King and shepherd knelt before Him,
as they watched him where he lay,
sheltered by his Mother's side
on a bed of golden hay.

All praised Him in his glory,
for this miracle foretold;
His love would be the greatest gift
that man would ever know.
